NIU is a Chinese manufacturer of electric two-wheelers, founded in Beijing in 2014. NIU first became known for its retro-styled electric motor scooters, and later added the KQi kickscooters. The KQi models are designed for commuters, often have wide pneumatic tyres and are offered in Germany with road approval and 20 km/h. Many functions such as riding modes and theft protection can be controlled via the NIU app.
