With the M365, Xiaomi helped kick off the e-scooter boom. Here you can compare the current Xiaomi Electric Scooters from several shops and find out how the variants differ.
The Xiaomi model family
Xiaomi releases its scooters in generations and offers several trim levels within each generation. The number stands for the generation, the suffix for the trim. Lite models are lighter and cheaper but have smaller batteries. The standard version is the balanced middle ground, while Pro models offer more range, stronger motors and often suspension. Ultra or Elite variants sit at the top of the range.
For Germany, Xiaomi sells dedicated versions with an ABE and a top speed of 20 km/h. Look out for references such as “DE”, “with German road approval” (mit deutscher Straßenzulassung) or “with ABE” in the listing.
How to choose the right model
The differences between Lite and Pro are clearly noticeable in everyday use:
- Short city trips up to 10 km, easy to carry: Lite model
- Daily commuting with reserve: standard or Pro model
- Heavier riders, hills, poor surfaces: Pro or Ultra with suspension
- With older generations, check whether spare parts are still available
Older generations and buying used
Because Xiaomi scooters are so widespread, there are many older models and used offers around. With an older model, check whether the ABE applies to exactly that version and whether the firmware or hardware has been modified. Tuned scooters that go faster than 20 km/h no longer have a valid operating permit. That is why we hide used and tuned scooters on this page.
Accessories and spare parts
A big advantage of Xiaomi is the huge choice of accessories and spare parts – from tyres and inner tubes to handlebar bags and mudguards. Where possible, buy safety-critical parts such as brakes and tyres as originals or from well-known manufacturers, and if in doubt, have brake work done by a workshop.
Who Xiaomi suits
Xiaomi scooters are particularly suited to city commuters looking for a proven model with a large community, plenty of guides and readily available spare parts. If you ride a lot on poor surfaces, choose a model with suspension and larger tyres.
A note on listings
We hide used and tuned Xiaomi scooters. Even with new products, check whether the German version with ABE is supplied.
